The North Remembers is the first episode of Game of Thrones season 2. Back in King's Landing, Joffrey (Cersei's son) is the new king and Tyrion Lannister is the new Hand of the King as Tywin is absent.

The main conflict is who is the legitimate king. On one hand, Lannister family affirms Joffrey is the one because his father was Robert Baratheon. On the other, Stannis Baratheon claims the Iron Throne as hew know that Joffrey isn't Robert's son. Therefore, Stannis plans to attack and possess King's Landing.

Meanwhile, the situation beyond the Wall is critical as several white walkers have been seen and winter is really coming. Back in the Seven Kingdoms, Robb Stark holds Jaime Lannister prisoner and tries to use that levarage to recover his sisters.

Interesting facts: the episode's title refers to Robb Stark and the popularity he's forging in the North. Did you know that two of the women Craster hold prisoners are performed by the director's daughters?
